Last night I was showing Steven and Jourden Alice in wonderland by Jan Svankmire and they are so young it was hilarious. They were like? is this from the 70s? I was like no dude it’s mid 80′s 86 if I am correct. It’s funny when people can’t remember stuff or never heard of things that are common place in our memories because they were not even alive. Like Three’s Company and stuff like that. Hanging with younger people is fun up to the point where they don’t get your jokes before the year 1995. Then you are like. Wow either they are not cool or I am fucking old.

i still own over 700 VHS movies – and still watch some of them – to try and replace all of them with DVD;S would cost a small fortune.

  • Lotusmarie96

I cannot even count how many VHS I still have and WATCH… I like it actually, for some reason I like the “old” quality. I don’t know I guess I’m old fashioned… XD

  • Nina_CK81

Oh yes, I do remember video tapes. I wasn’t allowed to watch TV. Only a few selected TV shows that have been recorded. My favorite broadcasts after watching them umpteen times always got these disturbing streaks. How time flies… :)

  • agnieszka

Got Ziggy Stardust concert on VHS, The Beatles Anthology, Apocalypse Now, complete with the making of – interviews and all – great staff.
Love commercials, the best ones are better than films, like short films in their own right. Aussie beer commercials and Scandinavian condoms commercials are way much more fun than most comedies.
But this? This is something else! I mean – Jeez!; what a ride!!! They`ve got everything in it; a few decades of history in a pill. I dont think its a prescription either, lol!
Did they get an Oscar for editing – they should have. And the images? So trippy, like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, only multiplied by a factor of 10.000. Im in love. Even the sountrack is perfect.
Wearing an idiot grin right now.
thank you so much for posting this! xo

Watching and reliving the 80′s. Seems like yesterday.

  • who knows?

in the first minute is a great philosophical question posed…
“is it real or is it memorex?”….& how do you know?
I ponder on it all the time………

  • http://twitter.com/_nephilim Anna

I’d love to get back to that time… I’ve got some kind of nostalgy for that period of time: music, films… Got a bunch of VHSes at home, still remember how to do the tracking :)
    Thanks for the time travel!

Wow…That brings back some memories. Did we really have that many douche and fast food commercials? Must have been because of all the sex we were having and getting stoned listening to MTV. I hate to say it, but I remember all of that. Thx for letting me take a stroll down memory lane. :)

  • jolievie

I do remember thinking my older cousins were the unfairest people on earth because they wouldn’t allow me near the thing.Side note how much is Ronald McDonald in that video agh I was not prepared for that.

  • Amy Weatherford

That brings back so many memories…GREAT memories. The 80′s were so awesome! LIKE TOTALLY!

  • Coreena

Good grief. This was it. The good stuff. The fun times. I remember the first time we got a Video player. We had a ton of tapes. I was about 9 and it was like heaven on earth. The hrs of footage. Pain in the ass when the vid got damaged tho. And recording stuff. What about Walkmans? That’s the other good stuff. I used to record my fav songs from radio stations and fav night time shows on them. Good times good times. It’s a shame ppl don’t enjoy the lil things enough anymore :/ too busy with computer games and other techy stuff& not going outside. I used too be in the park allot running around. Maccy D comercials where on allot indeed but it was so much different. Now they’ve banned the amount of times it shows and non on kids channels or prime time for kids

  • jomars
