An excerpt from Jared’s journal:

Am I turning into a European???

The water tastes normal. The food is great. The people don’t even have accents anymore! Things are getting weird…but I like it.

After a very pagan like bombastic and beautiful set in the trees at Provinsirock in Finland (where the sun actually went down and came up again during out set), we took planes, trains, buses, cars, and finally our feet to get to… Gothenburg, Sweden.

I really think that you slowly turn into an European Jared.

I remember that you said in Tilburg (Holland)

    "Can I become Dutch, please"…….

Maybe you must find a balance in your heart, that you are half American and half European, or something like that.

The Dutch have never have accents when they speak other languages, cause we learn already English when you are 7 years old, and now on the colleges, you can even learn Japanees, if you want, hahaha, Holland , the country of languages.

But even in other countries of Europe, they go to speak their languages better and better.

I think it's so great for you to play at festivals, in the open air with the beautiful nature around you, and even sometimes beautiful sunsets like at rock am Ring. (saw pic's of that;)

And then the food, it's nice that you love the European food, I don't know of you have found something good in Holland (but we have great restaurants) but I don't like traditional Dutch food at all, that's why I cook food from all over the world, that's a nice experiment and I love it to do ;)

European food is very good and tasty, even when you are (like me) don't eat meat.

It's so great that you met so many people/cultures, explore so many different countries, make so many people happy, see so many beautiful nature, architecture, rainbows, beautiful clouds etc…during this tour.

But don't you ever forget that every sunrice, every sunset, every sound of nature, every smile, every sound of music, every nice talk with someone, every beautiful building, every great river, every good food that you eat, every clear water that you drink, every love, believe and dream that you have etc…….

Are beautiful gifts in every new day that is gifted to you ;)

Thanks for sharing a part of "your life" with us.

    God Bless you, Jared.

    Love Marianne.

I keep telling my family we have to move to Europe..better movies, the closer to the edge video, and …are there even more echelon there?

    Wish I could've been at a sunset/sunrise show

Jared, every entry of your blog is a 5-minute enjoyment for me. Your passion for new impressions, sense of humour, and keenness of observation make reading your notes a true pleasure! As if you were sitting in front of me and sharing your ideas and impressions :) I'm so happy that my favourite band is so open. Hope that you yourself enjoy writing all this stuff, 'cause as far as I understand you are a very reserved person… Anyway THANK YOU so much, for sharing and inspiring!

P.S. Today in the morning I was listening to "Was it a dream" – I guess, for the 1000th time… :) Please, please play it when you're back to Russia!!! This song was that note that was missing in the unforgettable symphony of your show in St Petersburg in March :)

  • Nitta

Thank you for the block! And once again so well done pages!

I'm still waiting for your block from week 3… (Switzerland, Shannon's boat trip, UK, Download Festival, Tommy Iommi, Germany and HELSINKI with Pomegranate taxi & restaurant Juuri (root in English) There was also Shannon's and Tomo´s pictures and stories etc. etc…

Yes I have already read it, but maybe someone hasn't… So, if you could put it in here, that would be nice…

And now back to this block.

    Great pictures and nice stories!

But thank God you are not a baker – if that cake in the picture is made by you…hah hah! =OD

And turning into a European – yes why not?!

The show in Provinssirock was unforgettable! THANK YOU!

Now you know what is festival in Finland: so beautiful nature and a forest full of crowd wearing colourful “plasticbags” – and peeing under bushes and trees! Hah hah! And next day all of us who staid there for a whole weekend were up to neck in mud, but belief me, that was funny!

But next time – there will be next time, isn’t it?! – you could bring that Famous Californian Sun with you – just in case! But now back to block…

Your mission to find the best food in each city sounds nice. It’s funny to read those raports of food – and fashion. You could be also a good journalist! =O)

Keep looking and write to us what you have found – we loved to hear!

But now, All the Best to All of You!

And come back sooooooooooon – please…

    =O) Nitta

  • Marthe13

What?? once again…HOUSTON we get a problem!! we're losing to Jared! :) ) Oh, come on sweetie!! sorry but you have much more charming, than the Europeans! ops, first problem! and officially they have the most ugliest cake in the world!!

The reality is this one: They looks happiest because it's the 'Football World Cup'…and seems like nice people but, the charming is OFF at the end of championship…REALLY! Believe me! … Isn't that enough to wake up from this dream! I'm kidding Europe! my family is from there! hahhahaaaa…

My TIP: Just enjoy for a long while and 'sleep well' because this could be the most reasonable motive about this madness: the sleepless! [message hidden] Haaaaa but You know what to do about this item!…

Europe it's really awesome, but…I don't know??? Seems too perfect and even the most Perfect , doesn't means be the best!! So,sorry! it's my point of view, but anyway your shots are lovely! This MTV transmission (blog) week 4 is charming!!! can I feel you into your words again! and thats deserve a BIG THANKS SWEETIE J!!!

aand you took a day of in Copenhagen. How I love you.. juuust gotta love you.. But I did anyway. Hope you enjoyed. Gotta find Lars one day and have a little talk with him. mwhahaa. I love Copenhagen too. Wanna live in that city one day… maybe. But only if I don’t go to LA ;)
Would’ve loved to see you at Pier Pressure festival but couldn’t go, so hope to see you soon anyway. Maybe on the return to the UK. Or could make it easy, just come back to Denmark :D We love you so much, and all the charts start to love you just aswell. As I said you’re #1 on the Rock Chart and they finally showed your top 50 rock songs. Hope they’d show that MTV Worldstage performance too. It’ll all the amazing. Finally start loving Denmark for their taste in music. Hasn’t been too good. Way too less Mars. But it all looks much brighter now :D
Mars hugs… From Denmark, you know :p

  • Guinevere

Water says so much about the land that surrounds it. If you are in the UK, go to Glastonbury in Somerset and visit the Chalice Well gardens, the water there is like nothing you've tasted. Plus the book shops are amazing!

    E :-)

  • Victoria

Yey, Europe rocks! Take a trip to Norway, I promise you won't regret it! :D
