What an insane/amazing/intense/incredible week…

First: The new cd is out.
THIS IS WAR. Almost hard to believe the day has actually come.
Two years in the making, Flood, Lillywhite, 30mm lawsuits, global crises, a couple birthdays, a dog gone, lots of fun, a moment or two of panic, 10 million vocal takes, a new president, my same old car. There were days we didn’t know if it would actually be heard.
I’m on the plane to Chicago having played a frenzy of a show last night in Seattle with Muse, Phoenix, Metric, and Vampire Weekend and I’m thinking about how lucky we are to be able to do all of this. Maybe it’s the holiday crush, but this is the gift of a lifetime. The bands were all ridiculously great last night and the crowd the most rowdy and raucous and fun bunch of Pacific No’westerners we ever met. We left the stage sweaty, satisfied and awed by the good peeps of Washington.
By the way, who puts a cd out at xmas along side the heavyweights of the biz and the holiday CDs that crowd the shelves? I guess we do! Very happy it is finally out and there to share with the world and we are very grateful to all of you who were choosing between Susan Boyle, Xmas hits by Zamfir, and the new MARS and in a moment of weakness grabbed that CD with a face of a total random stranger on it (http://www.facebook.com/FacesofMars) . BRAVE CHOICE!

P.S. We believe in the record. Maybe more than anything before. And are so thankful for the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response. Its unlike anything we’ve experienced. If you are reading this and imagining how much you will may not like this album / this band, I have a small request. Take a moment, throw away any preconceived notions, and listen to the music. You never know… you may just like what you hear.

I just realized that 30 STM cd is out! Yes, only today! I've listen that on youtube. Unfotunately my ankle is broken and only because I am replacing at bed, I found the time to check some news from your band.
I have a question and who knows if you will answer (however, i will try):
I am declaring beforehan that I loved every album of your band, but, I think the first album was more full of genuineness rock and experimentations.
My question is: it depends about Emi or is a free choise of your band?
However, I am addicted about the new album. I love listen music very much and feel inside every vibration of your voice, of the guitars, drums,.. bass…ect. Good job!
I saw you two times at Milan and I am regretted the screams of the young fans does when I was trying to enjoyng the concert. I understand that is part of the game, and that's good having success about the things that we do. That surprised me so much because I though those last generations was not liking rock and this kind of music… Ok, that's true, I live in another planet XD

I'm pretty sure you won't ever read this but i feel that i should write it.
Jared, i want to thank you so much for all that great work you do. You and 30 STM.
Since 2006 i've been complaining to my friends that there are no such songs anymore.. mmm.. when you listen to them you feel that songs send shivers down your spine, not only because music and lyrics are awesome, but also because you can feel something more important and significant in it.
So in your new album there are 4 of such songs: Kings and Queens, Night of the hunter, This is war and Hurricane.
Thank you a lot for them! I wish one day i could hear them at live concert (my biggest dream is to sing it with 30stm but it's impossible
)
I can't say that I'm your fan (20 is too old to be fan of someone, i belive). But i can say that i really love you… special kind of love to a very talnted and creative person.
So, again, thank you very much, Jared. Your music (as long as your movies) gives me inspiration.

i love this is war, and i think the first 1 and 2 album was amazing too!! they are so different in between those three
I 've listened to three albums and they can see the evolution that you have had I think progress is good, everything changes and the world is very fast but what remains is your desire to make good music and connect with people when I hear your music my skin shivers with the chords of the guitars, drums, bass, vocals, synthesizer and your shocking voice sometimes sweet and other heartbreaking that revives all my feelings. YOUR MUSIC IS LIFE AND YOUR MESSAGE HOPE.

i had listening to 30 seconds to mars before but this cd REALLY got my attention…that's when they became my favorite band <3
U know. I like it. And u, Jared, as a frontman of the band and composer , u are very… brave. cuz TIW is not alike 30 stm and ABL. u risked, and u've succeeded. It's great.
